I actually modified TWO 7 year old eureka "theboss cordlesss upright vacuum" to use sears lithium batteries because the nickel cadmium batteries all other vacuums use are so poor. Then I found the hoover vac with linx or lithium batteries. WOW!!! I now have one of these on all 3 floors of our house. Talk about convenient and easy to use. The recharger is plugged in and ready and sits nearby. My wife and I love being able to just grab a lightweight vac whenever we want and just clean a spill made by our active toddler or vacuum a room when it needs it

BISSELL Swift Sweep Sweeper, 2201-2

This is a good little sweeper. I got it to sweep-up cat litter on low pile carpet between my vacuumings; and that it does. I esp. like the comb (included) that comes in handy when you're cleaning the bristles, it then attaches to the sweeper's pole so you don't loose it--nice feature, it's made of all

Dyson DC35 Digitial Slim Multi floor cordless vacuum cleaner

I have used this thing nearly every day for three reasons: 1) It's just cool. 2) I am consistently amazed with the stuff it picks up. And let me tell you, we keep a clean house. That said, I dump the canister and just shake my head. 3) When something is easy to use, you're more likely to use it. Being cordless is just the way to go.
So by now you are sick of reading so let me just tell you that the Dyson gets two big thumbs up/5-stars from a hard-to-please, penny-pinching skeptic of a consumer.

BISSELL 1867 Steam Mop Bare Floor Steam Cleaner

I admit it I finally bought something because I saw it on an infomercial and all I can say is that I am very impressed!! I have 2 dogs, a husband that works in the oilfield, me the messy cook, and I live in sandy red dirt west Texas. This thing can really handle it all. I also like how the mop pad also goes over my 1/4 round on the baseboards and gets them too.In addition I love that I don't have to immediatly leave the area after I have mopped because the fumes from the chemicals are so strong... as my experience was when I tried the swiffer wetjet. I had debated as to whether to get this with the Bissell CatchAll or to get the Hoover Floormate and so far I am very happy with the choice I have made.

Electrolux Cordless Quick-Up Clean

I've researched cordless stick vacs and finally decided on this one. I just bought it a Target for [...] bucks. If you've done your due diligence and have looked at reviews of the Eureka Quick Up vacuums, know that this particular model only has one battery. Replacement batteries will run you 20 dollars and up. Earlier Eureka Quick Up models, at roughly the same price, came with two batteries.

If you take the time to talk to any professional Hardwood Floor people they will tell you NOT to use Murphy's oil soap or ANY soap of any kind on your hardwood. I have been using this product for years and it was suggested to me by the hardwood installers that installed my floors. BISSELL PowerEdge Pet Hard Floor Vacuum, 81L2T

This Bissell Pet vacuum works even better than advertised! I highly recommend it to anyone I know who have pets. I have one Siberian Husky dog who can shed a small poodle amount of hair on any given day and a cat who sheds too. I have severe Osteoarthritis as well. This vacuum is the only one I can pick up and maneuver with ease on even my most painful days. It is easy to clean out. The suction is amazing! It really does get everything from under the cabinets and from around the legs of furniture and with no brissels involved I no longer have to clean the dog/cat hair off of brushes while trying to vacuum it all up. I really love this sweeper!
I even recommended it to my vetrinarian and the staff. So far two people have ordered this from amazon.com and love it as much as I do. I love how it has two windshield like rubber pieces instead of brissels so it just sucks up the hair from hardwood or other solid surface floors. It also sucks up the stuff that gets into the crevices of my congloleum and the grout spaces between tile. On carpeting it does get some of the lighter pet hair on top but to really get all of the pet hair out of some carpets and deeper pile rugs I still need my other bristle model.
This product is well worth the price and I will continue to highly recommend it to any pet owner

Neato XV-11 All Floor Robotic Vacuum System

I really like this robotic vacuum. It cleans a ridiculous amount of pet hair and dust from my carpet! I used a Roomba, which was fairly good but the drawback was it couldn't navigate to other rooms and back as well as the Neato does. The other drawback was it couldn't figure out how to get onto area carpets without the spinning brush on the front getting stuck. For the Neato, this is no problem at all. Instead of bouncing all around looking for light houses it will detect doorways and move from room to room in a more logical fashion.

Evolution Robotics Mint Automatic Hard Floor Cleaner, 4200

I must say, I'm impressed with the mapping system on this little guy. I have a very large (20'X20') open living room/kitchen area giving plenty of obstacles to confuse it. There's a staircase (which it deftly avoids), an island, a kitchen table with chairs, a couch and a number of tables for it to go under, an area rug and a piece of curved beveled glass on the floor that serves as a stand for a fireplace (which it surprisingly does not ride up on). Also, the room is overall "U" shaped with several entryways. This is the only robotic cleaner that has been able to figure this room out in its entirety. Other things to note is the room has a large fan and high, sloped ceilings and it can still find it's way.

Swivel Cordless Floor and Carpet Sweeper

I purchased this item knowing full well that I was taking a risk. What if it was NOT as grand as the infomercial made it out to be? Still, I'm somewhat limited physically (I'm an old bird, ok?) and I liked the idea of something lightweight to keep up with the little everyday messes at home. I share my home with two Chihuahuas and two cats. Enough said. Oh, and I live on a mountain...so "stuff" gets tracked in frequently.

This sweeper is phenomenal. I charged it up the day it arrived. After nearly two weeks of everyday use, and asking a LOT of it (cat litter, dog hair, lint, and some nails that got spilled long ago...) I find it is amazing for its size and weight. I have yet to re-charge the battery; it's still going strong. It goes everywhere, and sucks up everything effortlessly. I also love the little cleaning tool that came with it. I use it on my "regular" vacuum as well, to untangle the cat hair and such...why the big vac manufacturers haven't thought of this I don't know.

At any rate, this item is a winner. I have recommended it to everyone I know, particularly those who have pets. It's not perfect for heavy duty carpet cleaning, but on the other hand, I did use it to clean up my dogs' fleece bed after they crunched up a dry leaf all over it...guess what...it grumbled a bit, but it cleaned everything up. The easy empty feature is worth a lot to me too; and as I have arthritis, I appreciate not having to bend and crawl under furniture to sweep up.

Original Swivel Sweeper 7.2 Volt Replacement Battery

The replacement battery makes the Swivel Sweeper more powerful than we ever remember it being originally. The key is to charge the new battery fully for no more than eight hours and then to NOT recharge it again until after it completely runs out of power. And then do not leave the recharger plugged in for more than eight hours. So we have had the new battery for over a month and only recharged it two or three times.
Before, we made the mistake of leaving the old battery plugged into the charger all the time.
